So in your mind, the ruzzian president is programming the fire controls for each artillery strike? Wow he must be a busy guy.

Don't be ridiculous, that's not u/Alphix means. He means that the Russian army isn't deliberately targeting civilian targets, especially not children.

Its a war, and war is hell. Of course there are civilian casualties. There may even be "bad apples" who commit war crimes, no matter how virtuous the army. And let's be honest, angry, scared young men in a war zone are rarely that virtuous.

But, there is no evidence except for the Ukrainian propaganda that Russia is intentionally targeting civilians. The opposite is the case: we know beyond any doubt that Ukraine is firing unguided artillery indiscriminately at civilian targets in Donbass. We know that they are dropping illegal "petal" mines into civilian areas. Whatever crimes Ukraine does, they then accuse Russia of doing.

Amnesty International wrote a report that found that Ukraine was in violation of the rules of war by placing active combat troops and artillery in civilian buildings such as hospitals, nursing homes, cinemas and shopping centres. Of course Ukraine protested that by reporting the truth, Amnesty was doing Russia's work for them. Nevertheless, the report is still true: we have photos and video of Ukrainian military hiding in civilian buildings. If Ukraine, NATO or the US had video of Russian troops doing the same, you can bet it would be all over the news and internet.

But now you've bought it up - yes, yes they do. On Christmas Eve they shelled a town market in Kherson. They blew up a train station during evacuation. They dropped a bomb on the theatre signed 'children'. They shelled a breadline.

Yes, they target civilians to spread fear and terror, in Ukraine and Syria and Chechnya and England and the foul ruzzia itself. Go to gulagu dot net and have a look at how fear is maintained in the russia.

For months they've been exclusively targeting civilian infrastructure, to cause terror, and because they're afraid of getting into a tangle with the #1 army in Ukraine

More ruzprop lies from you. I wonder why in eight years the ruzzian authorities in Donbass never ever allowed NGO access....now we have one source on the claims of shelling, and that's the ruzzians themselves. They didn't want any other party reporting from Donbass and we should ask ourselves why
