I don't like Trump but he was anti-war moreso than any other President since Jimmy Carter.

He is anti-war the same way Reagan was anti-big gov't. He talked the talk, but he didn't walk the walk.

I don't think he could and keep any chance for reelection. That I think speaks to the powers he was beholden to. Trump has been pretty well documented as being against war his entire life.

You do know he's bombed more than Obama who bombed more than Bush.

Really, I wasn't aware. The wars seemed so low key.

Sales of munitions need not correlate with dead bodies on the ground. The military industrial complex couldn't care less if the bombs land in the ocean as long as they are paid for as they leave the factory.

That may be so, but in addition to the profits of the war machine their primary stated purpose is the War Of Terror.

Do they though? It costs a lot of money to properly dispose of old munitions. I always suspected that was a secondary goal of the Iraqi/Afghan conflict, we dumped a whole lot of old ordinance on their heads. Killed two birds with one stone.

Yes I never thought of that. All those bombs would have a shelf life, plus you need to clear them out to make way for the next generation weapons. It will be interesting (and alarming) to see what gets dropped when the next big war goes nuclear. It will of course, in the heat of battle some paki or indian or french idiot will let one off and then it will be a free for all. Perhaps the french will nuke themselves this time and save all the embarrassment of invasion and kowtowing.

As intended. Now THAT'S the new normal since 9/11.

Reminds me of the Libyan action, if I hadn't read about it on reddit I never would have heard about it. Nobody mainstream was talking about it. Even now I'm not entirely sure what happened.

We'll see how it goes in Trump's waning days. You know they're handing him Iran aggression plans on silver platters.

Well, apart form the de-escalations, the assassinations instead of war with Iran, then troops being pulled out, the oil industry interest in Syria being exposed etc.etc.etc.

Yeah, trump's totally a war hawk killer man /s
