This is why I've never personally owned an Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Google+, or whatever account. Yeah all my friends have them and I'm left out, but I don't feel the need to prove myself/friendship/use these things to maintain them (or rather an app determine how close I am with my friends and how much we stay in contact) - if you don't keep in contact with me because I'm not on the same platform you use when we live 15 minutes away, fuck you. I don't use Google Docs either, despite being a Uni student; there really is no reason for it outside of group projects, and another member will always get the Google Doc started. Despite even all of this, I know they still have a profile on me.
And lol@ "his excuse for giving away his privacy":
"For the longest time, my excuse not to live privately was "Honestly, I'd rather pay with my privacy rather than not have all these cool things that are provided to me".
That's the exact excuse all these big tech, data stealing companies use:
"It's a trade off - we're giving you access to our technology/service, you're giving us access to your data.. Except sometimes you also have to pay to access our service, and regardless of you paying or not, your data will be sold all across the globe indefinitely, to anyone willing to buy it, no matter what intentions they have".
We're all fucked anyway, but hopefully he's learned not to make their jobs easier for them.
edit: This just reminded me, do you guys remember this video?
