I never claimed to be a bastion of purity, I do think she's a bitch - given the stories coming out painting her as just another politician on the payroll - all the support for her comes from a good place and from good people - but she's a pied piper.

I can't sit idly by and act respectful to a person I don't respect and let good people be lied to, again.

I won't editorialize the headlines anymore, nor state my opinion about her unless asked to in debate, then, if that works?

Well saidit does, and it's part of the site rules to obey the pyramid of debate.

Now THAT is a much more useful editorialization than "LOL stay home bitch". Had you posted that info to the title instead of a rude insult we wouldn't be having this discussion right now.

I'm not saying "don't have an opinion". I am saying "state your opinion in a way that is on the higher levels of the pyramid of debate"

Do you see what I mean? It's just a decorum thing, it has nothing to do with your actual opinions. You're free to say whatever opinions you like. But respectfully, and in an informational manner. You'll find you convince more people that way anyways.

Nothing is sacred or safe on the internet, especially that which is declared sacred and safe. We all know this - just don't be surprised if as the user base grows without the pyramid of debate plastered in everyone's face on each page and a quiz about it when you sign up for an account, it's going to get forgotten (either accidentally or intentionally). If I had been a new user, I would likely have said "debate pyramid?".

I haven't seen the debate pyramid posted much (outside of isolated comments which some users won't be seeing, because they won't click on that post) in the last 8 months after the front page post about it was unstuck/dropped off.

Of course I see what you mean, but I was never trying to convince anyone in the first place. It's up to the reader to decide what they believe, I was simply relaying the news and injecting (and clearly delineating it from the article title) some of my opinion and passion into it.

My wording is my responsibility but it's as much up to people to have the self-restraint to either not engage with people they think are wrong or to engage in an actually productive and good faith manner, which did not occur earlier. You already said this, I already said this. Just felt like it would be rude not to reply to your post.

Like I said, I'll editorialize the titles less but I won't back down when I'm the one being attacked first.

I talk about the pyramid of debate frequently, and have seen other users do so as well to help reinforce visibility, but perhaps you're correct that it could use more visibility. I think we might automatically send a PM to every new user account that showcases the pyramid of debate and explains it.

I agree with everything you said, you're a very reasonable guy! I'm glad we see eye to eye now. Cheers
