It seems like he has a nearly 0% chance of becoming Speaker. Too many Republicans despise him for him to get to 217 votes.

My best guess is that Patrick McHenry just starts doing the job and we limp along with an "acting" Speaker until January 2025.

If the goal was to paralyze the republican agenda, Matt Gaetz has been 100% successful.
