Yeah, I think it's ending. The article has a ton of data, but I just feel it. People are fucking tired of endless, repetitive fights that don't accomplish anything. They're tired of shitty movies and TV shows that are more interested in preaching to them than entertaining them. They're posting less about politics on social media. They're bringing up politics less in public spaces.

It's just... fatigue. There's a sense that life from 2006-2013 was pretty good (except for that recession), and from 2014-2023 it's just kinda fucking sucked for everyone, and it's all self-inflicted wounds.

The explosion of the Great Awokening and what may come next is, in some ways, reminiscent of the Reign of Terror in the French Revolution. What began as a legitimate gripe became an all-encompassing orgy of grievance that canceled people at will. However, many people don’t remember that the Terror was followed by a reaction: disillusionment with the Revolution.

I think what followed was the counter revolution which killed more people than the revolution itself.

Maybe they don't mention that for reasons.
