PBS isn't corporate television?

I mean it's nice to not have commercials and they do have some good content. But between the beg-a-thons and the "this show was sponsored by a generous grant from your corporate overlord's foundation" I don't think we can really say it's public television.

There's certainly value in public television but it's not like I can't go on PBS and broadcast my own show. It's not really relevant in the internet era anyway. Would be far more prudent to have a "public video sharing site" that is tax funded and anyone can use, which we sorta already have except you know, corporate control and all that.

No in the modern era there really doesn't seem to be much reason as to why PBS should get taxpayer funding imho. It would be far more prudent to spend that money on roads or public transportation, public sports facilities, literally anything else.

Never before has PBS been shat upon by anyone in the US. Recent far right attacks on PBS, democracy, teachers, schools, library books, academics, education, intelligence, etc. is ALL part of the 1930s German fascist playbook. All of you GOP Nazi simps for the .001% should get the same response as the US gave Nazis in the early '40s, or rather what Nazis had done to Jews.

Yeah we're such nazis by wanting to reduce public funding towards a television network. Listen to yourself lmao.
