It makes sense. Public schools suck. If they take their money and give them to people who don’t suck, they will either fail or get better.
People who get money because they have a monopoly always suck.

Judging by the performance of my local public schools, I'm so glad I had the choice to put my kids in charter school. In every district in my state, charter and private schools far outshine public schools on every metric (except violence and identity politics crap). In every district, the bottom 10 schools are public.
