ProPublica is the "nonprofit" news organization that did the research for this story. They are openly biased for the progressives. That said, any politician, regardless of their affiliation, should be held to the highest ethical standards. I do not doubt why they went after Thomas instead of the others. It is the way of the Democrats to pile on a political opponent with any and every hit piece real or imaginary. They seem to have a different strategy than the Republicans, since they have the power of the media while the Republicans do not.

This law has been in effect since 1978, but it has not been enforced for any of the justices. It will be, beginning in May of this year, though.
