Let's also understand what the NIH does: grants are provided to several countries (especially BRICS) for medical research of many kinds. If I remember correctly, the NIH provided $1.1 million to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) through the EcoHealth Alliance. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) arranged for the funding. This happened beteeen October 2009 and May 2019. The Wuhan Institute of Virology is otherwise funded by the Chinese Communit Party (to the tune of $100s of millions, give or take). In October of 2014, the Obama Administration paused gain of function (GOF) research activities and funding, informing WIV of the decision. GOF research like this was proposed and prepared for potential approval before Obama entered office in January 2009. EcoHealth had worked with the WIV since 2004. As knowledge of GOF research spread, the Obama administration paused it in 2014. EcoHealth also tried to cover up GOF information in Februady 2020. The Trump administration officially ended it in 2019 (ie. cutting off funding via USAID). Much of this has been known since then and especially since early 2021, though not as much via the MSM. Politicians had this information. Jon Stewart was well aware of it. There is also evidence that WIV used the Chinese military in the development and protection of GOF research. The NIH should be required to disclose to the public what it did with their $1.1 million tax dollars in WIV. Politicians can make this happen. China should also disclose to the NIH what happened with the grant money. According to a January 15, 2021 State Department press release, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced several researchers inside the WIV became sick with COVID-19 like symptoms in the fall of 2019.
