No, that's what agnostic is. You just don't believe in anything in particular. Atheism is a definite faith in there not being any god.

But in most settings, people confuse the two, and call them both atheism.

You cannot simultaneously be sure there is no god and have faith that there is no god. One is absolute and the other is speculative. This is why I explained that I reject the claim, because it is inaccurate. To have faith, I'd have to care, frankly I don't believe in a god and don't particularly give a shit about the matter to much degree other than to defend my right to continue in my absence of belief.

Yeah, that sounds agnostic to me. You don't think there's a god but don't care enough to look into it. Agnostic is a Greek term that means not knowing (in contrast to gnostic which means knowing). It means the absence of belief in anything. Atheists are more sure that there's no god and can act "religious" about it.

Agnosticism is well defined as not knowing whether or not there is an existence of god, whereas I outright deny the existence of god and do so on a.regular basis. You're clutching at straws here. 🙄
