I think DeSantis is problematic because he became pretty wealthy in office. That's a big problem in politics these days

Old-fashioned graft is the least of problems a politician can have. They're all going to do it, and if that's his biggest problem, it's not a problem as long as he gets the job done.

I don't begrudge them doing well, but these guys get filthy stinking rich off public office and I seriously doubt they're serving their constituents appropriately if they're too busy enriching themselves.

That's a fair observation and criticism to make. But I'll point out it's pretty much everyone who becomes popular politically. Once you're a household name you can make loads on the speaking / ghost writing circuit where you can go do a 2 hour dinner in each city with the political uberfans willing to pay $10,000 a plate so they can be in the same room as the person and maybe get to shake their hand and say hello. Riveting stuff.
