While it's certainly not a mainstream opinion within the republican party dominionists do exist and form a particularly powerful and somewhat rabbid arm of the conservative movement. I'll give the radlibs credit where credit is due, these people are insane and should be taken seriously, but I won't pretend their opinions are the majority on the right.

If you've ever talked with a hardline bible thumping republican you'll quickly realize they are just as insane retarded and brainwashed as the hardcore trans-activists, in all actuality it's the same personality type really, just depends on what radicalized them young.

Tell a hardline dominionist that removing separation of church and state might result in a religion other than their own dictating policies they personally don't like and they'll act like the church is some completely homogeneous body of Christ that agrees on everything, except for those bad churches like the unitarians or what not. And here Baptist churches have splits because they can't agree on the timing of the rapture happening before or after everyone is forced to suffer from Armegeddon.

It's no different than what they complain about the left, they aren't interested in democracy or the constitution they only want to make everyone live by their own chosen ideology, well touche welcome to politics.

I can only imagine the immediate splits that will happen if they ever seize power. Imagine how pissed the Catholics would be at a Mormon theocracy. You'll get shit like communion wine being banned from churches again like back 100 years ago the last time a bunch of religious women got their way with public policy.
