I don't think this is something that "everyone knows" at all. Certainly his fans don't, and the political and media classes don't. Otherwise he'd be removed from office via the 25th Amendment.

I used to find personal attacks on myself irritating. Now I'm just amused by them, because they mean the other person has no real counter-arguments to what I'm saying and just has to have an emotional breakdown in public to avoid damaging cognitive dissonance.
