good article, but you didnt go back far enough at all. this shit didnt start last election, its been this way for decades. maybe youre not even trying to say that, but it kinda came across that way. its still amazing to me that people still think theres a real difference at the higher levels. or even lower levels, my grandmother thinks shes a staunch republican. half the shit she believes in is classical democrat by definition, but the definitions have muddied and changed so much over the decades.

My pawpaw is kind of that way. He keeps saying the Democratic Party was "the party to be" back when he was younger.

LOL. I get called a Communist and a Fascist, sometimes by the same people, usually Libertarians, who think a $15 minimum wage is Communism and being against abortion makes you a Fascist (even though abortion violates the NAP). The smarter ones call me a Nazbol, but National Bolshevism is still too extreme to be a proper label. Paternalistic Conservatism is more of my thing.

Trump was actually to the left of Hillary economically, which is why he won. The evidence of that is him pushing for more stimulus. That might have been lies to get elected and he knew Mitch would be the bad cop who would stop it. Putting tariffs on china is also a lw idea, it's like raising taxes on the rich, and repubs are usually against it.

This is a great point that makes me feel like standing up and clapping:

You can blame it on Sinema and Manchin, but the only reason most Democrats even support left-wing economic policy is because they know they can rely on the aforementioned Senators to block whatever they pretend to fight for. If the Democrats won another seat: I’m sure we’d have some centrist “New Democrat” step in as the third pariah.

Strongly disagree, Hillary lost because she's not likeable and she hasn't accomplished anything worth political devotion. At the end of the day she's just Bill Clinton's much cheated upon wife.

democrats help black people with free money, that does lead to them doing worse in society without having to work hard. What was the dem party before the civil war? The party of Andrew Jackson, the best president. It was quite popular, but then subverted.

LBJ pushed the civil rights act of 1964 through congress. He said something like "we'll have those niggers voting Democrat for 200 years".

one of the reasons USA did that was to counter criticisms from the USSR who used whataboutism to complain about USA's racist laws when USA pointed out their abuses. They were also worried about blacks using violent tactics such as those recommended by Malcolm X. LBJ would have known votes didn't matter, look at how he became president in the first place.
