Some clueless American mentioned this might be happening, in a thread full of Scots, to the SNP. They said that in separatist movements around the world time and time again, foreign governments or private powers try to buy their way in and get influenced over the movement in case independence does happen and then they end up with huge power and control. Even if it doesn't happen they can use this influence to attack the national government and make the country divided and poorer.
They all kicked off about how the guy didn't understand that Scottish independence was a great thing, noble cause, is necessary, etc, drowning his point out. No one addressing the issue.
I mean you don't think of something like that happing in the UK ... Eastern Europe, South America and Asia maybe.
But looking at the state of Scotland at the moment I'm not so sure.
