I agree to a large extent, but Nike makes no profit if they don't have Chinese slave laborers to make shoes. So of course Nike will say this. And most of the big corporations will too. But all this means is that America is weak and China holds all the cards. It means America can't attack China, but China could attack America, or threaten to, and then America will have to change its ways to whatever China wants us to do.

To the average American they are probably like "meh, so what?". But as an example I recall hearing about China fishing in a sea that belongs to the Philippines. The US would typically defend Ph and by strength get China to back down. Now China doesn't have to back down and they take all the fish meaning people in the Ph have no fishing jobs and worse, no fish (ie no food). So the US probably has to ship them our fish or discounted farm products, whatever. Eventually this sort of situation happens to something important and we don't get the drug that keeps us alive, or the component that keeps cell phones running, or the internet, or food to eat. Eventually we will suffer for our stupidity.

Id also add to this that probably 60% of politicians, "academics", media, and CEO's want us to be like China. They want a social credit score, they want a permanent underclass, they want de facto slave labor, and they definitely want the information control.

Yea, so what. Ford liked Hitler but then he converted his plants for war. Corporations are about greed, not politics.

Ford and the other oligarchs probably didn't like the Soviet Union kicking the crap out the Nazis and about to lose their investments rebuilding Germany after WWI
