If you genuniely believed that your policies were better than the democrats, you wouldn't need to lie about what the democrats position is.

It should concern republicans that their representatives are lying to them to get them to vote for them. It implies that they don't think that there's a good fact-based reason to vote for them.

To be fair, I think the only person who actually bought into this was some congressional candidate who lost in Florida.
