The wheels of justice are slowly turning against Trump. This is one of three criminal cases proceeding against Trump. On Thursday last week, charges were laid regarding a long-running tax fraud scheme:

"Beginning from at least 2005 to on or about June 30,2021,the defendants and others devised and operated a scheme to defraud federal, New York State, and New York City tax authorities."

The wheels of justice are rigged.

They are a bit at the moment. The SCOTUS is loaded full of far right, anti-free thought, anti-human rights, pro-church and state, anti-choice and it turns out anti-union, and they're prepared to throw out the rule of law in order to oppress the individual cases that come in front of them, while trying to limit the effect in terms of precedent.

But I imagine they'll lock up Trump.

That's right ... at this stage.

If he had no hand in the tax fraud over the past decade and a half at his own organisation, it'll stay that way.

If not, as the investigation continues, more people will be indicted.

Can I ask what country you live and why you're so interested in American politics?

Have I not let slip where I live? I should probably keep it that way, just for privacy.

I'm interested in American politics for various reasons, depending on the aspect.

I have an interest in the geopolitical aspects. The world is one of rising autocratic states, and countries ebbing away from democracy and freedom. While the USA's foreign policy has been horrific in South and Central America and in the Middle East (and in South East Asia), they have also been (until Trump) a force for shoring up democracies, and protecting them against autocracies.

In terms of the rise of Christian Fundamentalism, the withdrawal of a woman's rights over her own womb, the dissolving of the separation of Church and State and the re-instating of "sincere religious belief" as a defence against anti-discrimination laws, I'm interested despite not having an interest in the way that a story of a train wreck would hold my attention.

In terms of the pandemic and environmental policy, we're all in this together. US policy affects me as much as it does its citizens.
