This is the same Roy Copper who received the benefit of a 2am ballot dump in 2016 while he was losing to Governor McCrory. It is also the same Roy Cooper who, while he was North Carolina Attorney General, decided not to investigate his good friend, Governor Mike Easley, for embezzlement. The FBI had to step in because Easley was taking weekly $1600 taxpayer funded helicopter rides to his beach house.
