You have to take this as an example of social signalling. The mayor herself believes

1) that there is a NWO conspiracy and

2) fealty to the same must be expressed by anyone wishing to advance in politics.

so she is taking this interview as an opportunity to signal to people on the inside of the conspiracy she believes in that she is onboard and all in.

It's pathetic is what it is.
