Eh he traveled across state lines to shoot at people, not exactly a hero.

Also the people he killed came from other states too.

This whole conflict is being orchestrated by the most extreme elements on both sides. They travel in to create escalations.

This is not something to celebrate.

Actually he lived 30 minutes from there, he just got off of work. He's in the area. He was there to provide medical assistance, but he had to intervene in a more direct way.

He was there to provide medical assistance

Suuuure he was. What a convenient cover for traveling 30 mins to shoot and kill people

[–]wrongthink 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

And how many minutes did the people who were shot have to travel to get near the buildings they wanted to burn?

[–]Ergu 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

They just went there so they could get shot

[–]christnmusicreleasesIndependent[S] 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

That's not travel.

[–]magnora7 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It is if he had no other reason to be there, he clearly went far out of his way to get involved

[–]christnmusicreleasesIndependent[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

No, he worked in the area, and was asked to help give first aid.

Yeah, it's a great cover for doing what he actually did

    [–]King_Brutus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Maybe he wouldn't have shot anyone if they didn't attack him first?

    [–]magnora7 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

He put himself in a very dangerous situation because he wanted to shoot

    [–]King_Brutus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

You seem to know a lot about his intentions, and are judging his character because of his self-defense, and placing zero blame on the instigators who attacked him. Curious.

    [–]magnora7 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

and placing zero blame on the instigators who attacked him.

I blame them too! They also came out of town.

What I'm commenting on is the fact some people seem to think this guy is some sort of hero, and he's not. Not at all. No one involved in this story is.

Everyone involved was playing stupid games, and won stupid prizes. No one deserves praise here.

    [–]Scruffy_Nerf_Herder 16 insightful - 3 fun16 insightful - 2 fun17 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

I agree that what happened shouldn’t be celebrated but saying “he traveled across state lines to shoot at people” is stupid. He was running away and didn’t shoot at anyone that wasn’t trying to attack him first.

    [–]magnora7 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

He literally traveled 30 mins in his car, out of his way, to get involved. He actually did travel across state lines to shoot at people.

    [–]wrongthink 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

There is close to 0% chance that Kyle gets convicted on most of the charges thrown at him. If you want to understand why you can watch the rest of this vid (timestamp preincluded) https://youtu.be/HvyrJ6lkCXQ?t=3796. It's good exercise to take a short walk outside your filter bubble now and then. You can watch it at 2x speed if the thought of actually listening is that scary to you.

    [–]Scruffy_Nerf_Herder 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

He worked in Kenosha so that’s not “out of his way”. According to this article he went to went to work and helped to remove graffiti before hearing about a business owner wanting help protecting their dealership. Stupid thing to do considering he’s 17 but I haven’t seen anything that proves his presence at the protest was part of some malicious murder plan.

    [–]King_Brutus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

30 WHOLE MINUTES!? HOLY SHIT THAT'S AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR

Where are you people getting this idea that 30 minutes is a long drive? Christ, that's most people's commute to work.

    [–]magnora7 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

30 mins is a long way to drive to go participate in a violent riot. Most people try to stay away from those, rather than spending half an hour going to them

    [–]King_Brutus 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So what is an acceptable amount of time to drive somewhere for you? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? What length of time would it take for you people to stop using the "30 WHOLE MINUTES" argument? 30 minutes is not a long drive. And I'm glad someone at least is finally standing up to domestic terrorism.

Something something pyramid of debate. Something something maybe stick to the facts something something this aint that.

    [–]magnora7 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

What did I say that wasn't a fact? You can't just go "pyramid of debate" anytime you disagree with someone to shut them down, that's not how this works

    [–]CheesyPeas 7 insightful - 4 fun7 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 4 fun -  (2 children)

'Eh he traveled across state lines to shoot at people'

    This is pure supposition.

You are assuming intent with no knowledge of the actual intent.

You do not know this to be the case at all. Did he cross state lines? Yes. Did he do it explicitly to be able then shoot people? Pure projection. You have no fucking clue the reasons why.

And you talk of orchestration whilst being guilty of such yourself.

    [–]King_Brutus 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

    Ey, nice one

    [–]FediNetizen 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Kyle is no hero, but I don't believe he came that night looking to shoot anyone, either; he was just a dumb kid that got separated from his group and was being chased by a group of thugs. It probably would have ended with him running away with his tail between his legs, except one of the retards chasing him decided it would be a good idea to pull out a pistol and fire it into the air, and that was when things escalated. If you want a detailed (and entertaining) write-up of what happened that led to 2 people dying, I posted a link to an article about that here.

    [–]magnora7 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

He brought an assault rifle and neoprene gloves, he was clearly prepared to shoot someone, and did.

    [–]FediNetizen 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

He brought a bag with first aid equipment, which is where the gloves came from. When treating an injury you wear those gloves to keep things sanitary.

He wasn't there with a gun by himself, either; he was there are part of a militia group, and all of them had guns. As this is America, lots of protestors and counter-protestors bring guns to protests. It doesn't mean they're looking to shoot someone just because they have them.

    [–]wrongthink 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

He went to work that day and stayed around at the request of his friends, one of whom was nice enough to arm him.

    [–]King_Brutus 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

None of this would have happened if terrorists weren't actively burning down towns.

    [–]RibbitAndBreve 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Uh, which town has been burned down? You imply multiple towns have been...

    [–]King_Brutus 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Kenosha, Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle to name a few.
