National Socialism was the response of normal people to this lumpen/Jewish terror alliance, and the ruling elites haven't seemed to have learned any lessons from history.

Actually there's an element of truth to to this. Hitler seized power partly because he was an alternative to the Communists, who were trying to take over Germany and who had shown themselves to be bloodthirsty beyond all measure.
