I think you're right! The wikipedia article states that 93 were released by New Mexico Game & Fish and now there are 3,000 running around. That may have been what I saw or maybe a springbok.

There is indeed audio. Right now (7:30pm Eastern U.S.) the time says 2:30am and what looks like a dog or fox sniffing around the water hole. People in the chat are talking about ostriches, duikers, and jackals.
