Samsung's AI couldn't decide which face to give higher priority on its (secret) killing list.
The cat glitched it, obviously.

I'm guessing a software bug glitched the photo as it was being processed.

That was my thinking. Modern phones have good cameras and something like this shouldn't happen. I get the impression that the CPU was under high load from taking the picture, and that either affected the shutter time, or the processing of the picture. I'm not that knowledgeable on this subject, though, it's just an intuition.

It was taken with my wife's Samsung Galaxy S21. She tool 8 pictures, 7 turned out fine, but this one went all fucky. The left eye on my daughter is neither my daughters or sons, most of my sons hair is missing, and my daughter has 2 different mouths, plus all the other distortion. Best we can think of is the phone got confused and blend 2 photos or the shutter stuck open? Not sure how that would happen as she was just using the regular camera mode, not pro mode. Any ideas?

Might be the rolling shutter effect, but I don't know.

What was the timer of the exposure? Half a second? Is it a double-exposure? Maybe it uses a HDR setting?
Or it is aliens.
