"walkout" has such a better connotation than "strike." I know they're not exactly the same thing but still. walkout is like yeah! power of the people! but strike is like a bunch of people complaining or something.

They probably used to have the same connotation, but after the anti-union media we've been raised in since the 70s, they've done well to smear all the words that were previously used to organize and galvanize the community. They want all these words to be destroyed and/or lose their power.

This is one of the few mass walkouts I've seen in several years. I hope they find success.

I hope they find success too. Did you like the way they tried to squelch it with that pay raise. It was the biggest in how long? Probably like forever. And now the Oklahoma governor compares striking teachers to a ‘a teenage kid that wants a better car’. Like it has nothing to do with getting things for the benefit of the kids they teach 🙄

Yeah god forbid we spend our tax dollars on things other than oil and war. Seems all those in charge want.
