Yet when a kid dies because their parents were shaking a dead chicken over them instead of taking them to a goddamn hospital, people wring their hands over the lack of protection for children.

I have little respect for idiots that let their children suffer because they're too stupid to take them to a doctor. We had some assholes here that ended up in jail because their son died after they ignored his symptoms for 2 weeks and were told by a nurse friend to get him to a hospital immediately.

I'd like to think it's Darwin in action, but then the kids are paying the price of the parents idiocy.
