Lake told police he didn’t hurt the baby’s head and that he only caused the internal injuries.

DeHart said Lake showed no remorse and was only concerned about one thing.

“Him asking for reimbursement for his futon, that’s just disgusting," said DeHart.

Paramedics took DeHart to Children’s Medical Center with multiple injuries, including a skull fracture. He was then placed on life-support.

DeHart’s doctors described his injuries as acute and non-accidental.

“Anything they do is never going to bring my little boy back,” said DeHart.

Lake was arrested on Monday and charged with capital murder.
