What kind of wood do you have stacked there? Oak? Or something else?

No hardwoods in the forests here. Douglas fir and larch (tamarack) are the favored wood…they have about twice the heating value per cord as the other pines like spruce or lodge pole.

I have targeted larch. It’s not as resinous as Douglas fir. Both woods have about 22 MMBtu/cord.

Larch is not a pine, but looks like one. Larch loses its needles every fall.
