Yes, and good question. It shows who controls the kingdoms of this world. Even Jesus did not claim it as his own, saying instead: My kingdom is not of this world. If this world had been part of his kingdom, then would have his servants fought so they that he would not be delivered up to the Jews. But his sacrifice was necessary for all of mankind to be released from this satanic world.

Are you implying that Jesus's kingdom is in some other world? Because it also says that this is the world which Christians will inherit, with a New Jerusalem established here. This world is also the site where resurrection takes place.

As you stated, the old Jerusalem (which is not part of the Lord's kingdom) will be replaced with New Jerusalem, which will descend from heaven. All the kingdoms of this world that refuse to serve the Lord (including America) shall be destroyed. The wicked rulers and false preachers shall be replaced with kings and priests that obey the Lord. His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Some people sacrifice animals, people, children, even babies, for some perceived power or selfish benefit. Jesus died on the cross to save you from this satanic world. If you acknowledge that God's spirit was in him when he made his sacrifice for you, his life for your life, then you can be free from the bondage of this world. His sacrifice was made because of his greater than great love for us.
