Man, that sucks for the passengers, but imagine how many more times that sucks for the poor person with the poops. All the same smells plus the horror of having shit yourself all over a plane.

As someone with IBS and Celiacs disease this is basically my worst nightmare.

I had something similar happen once while deep water SCUBA diving in Baja California.

Trying to hold it when I needed a decompression time was awful. I didn't make it and the stuff made it all the way up my suit and into my beard. I was surrounded by fish though like a Disney princess as apparently they liked the taste. Less so of the group I was scuba diving with. They swam over to see the fish and I tried to wave them away.

The worst part was the miserable 2 hour boat ride back with shoulder to shoulder space and over a dozen people crammed shoulder to shoulder with my stinking suit sitting in the middle of the boat, and having to ask the captain to stop every few minutes so I could jump overboard and shit again. :(

I mean, except that time it's not like I can't hold it. It's just difficult sometimes. The only times that worry me is if I can't find a bathroom within 20 minutes or so. Also since I figured out the whole Celiacs thing it's gotten much better.

And I am definitely not proud, I just lost all shame years ago. Why bother? The less you are embarrassed by things like that the less people care.

I like making people happy and bringing joy into the world. I'm sharing this story with strangers on the internet because it's funny, and I don't mind people laughing at my expense. I've got plenty going on right in my life I can take a hit or two on stupid stuff like this.

I know my strengths and weaknesses and don't hide from either. I address my weaknesses head on and with zero shame and that is something I AM proud of.

actually it's cringe and it'd be best if you don't share it more

Yes, it's a humiliating story from decades ago. That's the point it's supposed to be cringe inducing.

I think what's more cringe is you caring enough to make this comment, especially to come back like a month later. Just laugh if you find cringe humor funny, and ignore otherwise.
