Personally, I have never liked Twitter nor had any interest in it. I tried it once and couldn't figure out the point. Years later I discovered the point was to obsess over celebrities or try to gain a following, both things I'm not interested in.

Anyway, this move will greatly hurt Twitter (surprise!)

If you imagine you're one of these narcisistic personalities with a bunch of fans, now a big portion of your fans cannot follow along with whatever you post to Twitter. So, it increasingly starts to make sense to post that content somewhere which doesn't require an account to view or read. It's these celebrities which drive a significant majority of twitter traffic. That's an effect that will snowball over a longer period of time.

There is some truthful content on Twitter mixed in with those worldly distractions. I liked to search Twitter for real-time posts about things like the weather, including the recent hail storms. Some of the content I found on Twitter can be found in these posts:

Regarding your comment about moving to platforms that do not require identification, your idea sounds reasonable, but will not work. Why? Because it will soon be required that all human beings be marked in the right hand or forehead to do anything in the world. Soon, people will be required to prove their identity to use the internet, to buy anything or to sell anything.

Elon Musk acts like he is concerned about AI. And many people will want the mark of the beast, so that they will know who is communicating. Is it AI or a human being? But the cost to being branded like cattle is enormous: the soul. There is nothing anyone can do to get their soul back once they sell it. They've lost it for ever. Jesus warned us about this long ago. And there is no other name by which a man may be saved. He is the only true Savior of the world.
