More likely nobody gave a fuck. Day to day, most people’s primary concern was probably not what other people were doing with each other’s pee pees. Late stage capitalism and a crumbling empire bring on these hyper-refined obsessions with issues that, by all rights, have nothing to do with those who are so fixated on them. Remember, the opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference. People this focused on gay issues are, well… heavily focused on gay issues.

Perversion has a tendency to spread. It's a social ill that eventually kills its societal host. It is a complete lie that people are born with a sexuality and it's no coincidence that homosexuality and bisexuality are sky rocketing in western societies. It is already a major problem.
