People don’t like to hear it, but Jim Crow laws existed for a reason and force is the one thing they DO respect.

I saw a video a few years ago that involved a black woman yelling and making threatening gestures in a city liquor store and she tried to go behind the counter. The owner (?) pulled a gun but in a tremendous (and freedom saving) show of restraint, pistol whipped her a few times. She didn’t fall down, but you could see the fight leave her eyes almost immediately. She stopped.

I remember saying to myself: “She’ll never get out of line in that store again”.
