how is an induction an abortion? it doesn't make sense the supreme court decision would prevent her doctor from performing an induction. am i missing something?

A lot of these procedures are termed abortions in medical literature.

This is why laws need to be precise in what they cover.

strange. thanks for the explanation.

i can’t see how a hormone to ‘induce’ labor is in the same category as a needle to the heart to ‘induce’ a heart attack and / or then delimbing a human. but i often find the current state of things v mind bending.

Any leading to the death of the fetus can be called an abortion.

Miscarriages are also called abortions, which is why some states are thinking about laws against women who miscarry for unknown reasons.

An induction and abortion are the same thing. Abortion pills just induce labor prematurely.

The difference here is she is at 26 weeks, almost her 3rd trimester. The baby is already large and developed; it has hair and will be sucking its thumb by this time. It will be big and need help being delivered.

After her abortion, especially at this very late point in the pregnancy, she will need a DNC procedure, to scrape the birthing material out of her body. This prevents infection and reduces risks to future pregnancies.
