The bad times haven't even started yet. Everything will get worse until the antichrist reveals himself. He will make things better, and everyone will worship him.

Every celebrity you know of worships Satan. Every politician worships Satan. They have been preparing us for thousands of years. It is difficult to exaggerate the scale of the deception. If God is not real, then there is no hope. The only possible hope is the existence of God. There is nothing else.

To add to what you are saying, after the sign of the Son of Man (cross) appears in the sky and He gathers the elect, everyone will know there is a God. Then the antichrist will show up, claiming to be the Messiah, claiming to be the fulfilllment of every religion. People will think that he is the second coming and many Christians will apostize from the faith. The 144000 servants of God will preach the gospel so that many will be saved.

After World War 1 the League of Nations was founded. After world war 2 the United Nations was founded. After world war 3, the United religions will be founded. Antipope Francis calls it fraternal.

The Antichrist will appear to make things better for some, physically. The spiritual condition of his followers, however, will get worse. His followers will be like Esau, who sold his birth right for one meal to satisfy his physical hunger. The people that follow the beast will sell him their souls.

Genesis
25:29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
25:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
25:31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
25:33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
25:34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
