African Americans were never slaves, that's a lie. They came to america to escape the tribal wars in africa and became indentured servants to pay for their passage on the Black birders. Many of them stayed on with the generous plantation owners and so did their children because it was easier than making a go of it in the real world.

yes it is. But honestly, removing a few statues isn't going to change anything. The more you give in these situations the more is demanded. The results of the last 50 years of concessions should make that abundantly clear. But it's your nation, do as you please.
