Yes but otherwise 200,000 more 85 year olds would have a year of their lives cut short.

Worst part is most of those 85 years old, if you asked them, would probably want to go without the shut down.

Not only does it destroy the lives of and indirectly kill countless more young people, it ensures they wont be able to see their families when they're on their death beds, and they don't have anywhere to go or anything to do for their remaining months or years.

Quantity of life != Quality of life. I know a couple of people that have died alone because their old folks homes were on lockdown, it was excruciating to go through for the families. I read and verified a story about a Canadian old lady who said "fuck it, I don't want to live alone, euthanize me", and they did.

Yeah, Canada is fucked in the head politically.

Euthanizing when someone doesn't want to be wrongly imprisoned, and wrongly imprisoning her because it's "dangerous" to her to go outside or see her family.
