Who in their right mind thinks just wantonly trying children as adults, especially obviously mentally ill children, is just? How is this justice? You don't "get off" on an insanity plea, they sentence you to an asylum (or institution of some kind whatever you want to call it) and a lot of people who got such a sentence never get out because they are actually incurably insane.

I hope she is curable. I certainly am loath to give up hope.
Years ago I read a think piece that advocated the idea that the maximum sentence for a juvenile crime be twice the person’s age. I am coming around to that idea, I think.

Why? If she had been a black boy you would probably still want him in. Lose the pussy pass belief and also that psychos who can be "cured" should be allowed to live after they obviously took/helped take somebody better than them off this planet. At best she should have gotten the death penalty, and at bare minimum, sterilized and monitored for the rest of her life. You humanitarian types are retarded, you think it's okay for somebody who did not allow another person to live their entire life to walk this planet and live theirs? Disgusting.
