A confidential highly-informed Israeli source has told me ...

..."unintended" They forgot one of the cardinal rules of intel: Neither confirm nor deny.

They confirm they bombed Beirut but deny that the larger explosion was intended. Mossad is getting soft.

So what caused the second, "unintended explosion"? [Putting a question mark outside quotes is allowed only when not doing so changes the meaning, as here. Anal-retentive is hyphenated, right?]

Article based on one unnamed source. Gonna have to pass.

But as I said in another place, whoever planted the first bomb is legally responsible for the second explosion also, according to laws in most countries. I feel sure the second explosion was part of their plan but either way they are legally responsible even if they did not plan for the second explosion but I find that very hard to believe.

So Israel, through an anonymous high-ranking source, has admitted setting off the first explosion and that makes them responsible for both explosions from the legal point of view. Mossad must have known there was a second cache of explosive material that would be ignited. They are not stupid.

[–]Sixto 2 insightful - 0 fun - 11 hours ago So what caused the second, "unintended explosion"? The first, intended explosion surely... According to this article, the intended explosion was the first of the two explosions, the bomb itself and the targeted ammunition stored underground. This led to the second explosion, the 2.300 tons of ammonium nitrate stored in the nearby silo. I still think it's more likely that the first explosion was at the already known fireworks fire next door that led to the second explosion.

Has anyone else seen the unexpected objects or special effects, one of them looking much like a missile, that appear on some of the videos just before the secondary explosion?
