The people who brought about this "illiberal environment" are now trying to coopt the inevitable backlash. Fuck them. Weiss wrote a book advocating cancel culture and punishment against anyone who speaks out about the tribe. Now she's feeling butthurt because some of their BLM pets are noticing her tribes role in their "oppression" and are linking it up with their treatment of Palestinians.

Steven Pinker and several others are doing the same thing. Pinker and his disciples pushed to get Kevin Macdonald cancelled because he spoke his mind, despite Macdonald using a calm and measured tone and showing a willingness to debate anyone who disagreed with him. Now he wants to be play the free speech martyr when others do the same thing for him. Dont fall for it. They arent pro free speech.

Let's see. If they fall back into defending cancellation of more "controversial" figures after the storm has passed, then I wholeheartedly agree with you.
