I read & I write. Oddly both are held back by The Failing New York Times and The Economist. Just as I get going on a book another damn newspaper comes in and I am going to read it, dammit. I paid for it and I am going to read it.
Getting rid of TV was not for any noble reason. Arabic TV is not very good. Further I find the visual media too intrusive.

Stop paying for it. Especially the establishment shit.
Find better zines or pirate them if you must.
"Intrusive" is a curious term for it. Too many are immersed and don't resurface.

I simply cannot think with all that noise in the background. Further, I am convinced a TV screen simply draws your eye to it. It is very hard to get things done in a room with a TV.
I last turned mine on to see the inauguration.
