I don't know about weather control, but I've mentioned before that I have pain flare ups with the weather and it's just been getting worse. I can't be sure that's not just me getting worse, but we have months where it's one big weather event coming in after another and I don't remember that being so common.

I can't imagine someone would want to do this, our weather is costing billions of dollars in damages. But we certainly have influenced the effects of the weather. We flood as bad as we do because we've paved over too much of our natural drainage with concrete. Part of the problem anyways.

With any luck, the warm weather + increased vaccination will shift the masses' narrative on masks and lockdowns so it ends this summer. It's more convenient to pretend there's some world-ending pandemic going on when the weather's shit. Plus, this will let the democratic establishment pat themselves on the back and claim they solved COVID19. The real question is whether the money billionaires are making off the lockdowns will be enough to bribe the government into deny bread and circuses this summer.

OK, Now that Dolly says do it, do it.

Musician Dolly Parton received her first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine Tuesday and celebrated the occasion by advocating for others to do the same.

To that end, 75-year-old Parton rewrote some of the lyrics to her beloved song “Jolene.” In a video posted to Twitter, she sings, “Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. I’m begging of you please don’t hesitate. Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. ‘Cause once you’re dead that’s a bit too late.”

Parton goes on to laugh at herself before turning serious: “I know I’m trying to be funny now but I’m dead serious about the vaccine. I think we all want to get back to normal, whatever that is. And that would be a great shot in the arm, wouldn’t it, if we could get back to that.”

“I just want to say to all you cowards out there, don’t be such a chicken squat, get out there and get your shot,” she said.

Parton goes on to don her mask and receive the vaccine on-camera.

“I’ve been waiting since December, I’ve been in-line,” Parton said.

And the people are easy to get along with but you know that. Do you put any stock in the theory that Texas and particularly Houston have been the victims of weather control over the last few years? It sounds farfetched but that hurricane that passed over Houston and then backtracked and stayed over the city for days is something I've never heard of and I grew up in hurricane country. Just skip that question if you like. I hope things normalize soon.

Power has been stable for me, we haven't even had a boil order for a while but the water was gross looking and I still am using bottled water. It took a while for the water pressure to be decent, that's a relatively recent improvement -- they were still hunting down all the leaks I guess -- and this might just be a Me issue but our hot water has been iffy. I still am unsure day to day if the water will warm. Makes showers interesting.

On that last note, I don't think Texans have ever been so smelly in general.

13 dead in California crash, some ejected from SUV carrying 25 people: Highway patrol by Nemacolin in news

I Blame Obama for this.

At least 13 people have died from a crash between a big rig and an SUV in Southern California Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A Ford Expedition SUV entered the intersection with the big rig and subsequently, the big rig, which was hauling two trailers, collided with the left side of the SUV before 6:15 a.m. local time, the highway patrol said.

Twenty-five people were in the Ford Expedition, ranging in age from 15 to 53, the highway patrol said.

Many passengers were ejected onto the road, the highway patrol said, adding that there were not enough seatbelts for 25 people.

California Highway Patrol Chief Omar Watson told ABC News that it's "unfathomable" that 25 people were inside this one car. There was "major intrusive damage" to the vehicle, which only had a driver's seat and front passenger seat, he said. It wasn't clear why there weren't any backseats, he said.

"What it indicates is that there's not enough safety belts for the passengers, and we obviously want to make sure that everyone's safely restrained within the vehicle," Watson told reporters.

Former President Trump and former first lady Melania Trump were vaccinated at the White House in January, two sources confirm to CBS News.

It's not clear why the former president made no public remarks about his coronavirus vaccination, given high levels of skepticism about the vaccine, particularly among Republicans. Mr. Trump urged attendees at his speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference on Sunday to get their COVID-19 shots, but he did not mention that he had been vaccinated.

Whether the president has received both shots has also not been disclosed. Mr. Trump contracted COVID-19 in October.

Artifacts collected by Phil Collins went on display Tuesday at the Alamo after the legendary musician donated the items to the state of Texas.

The “Phil Collins Collection Preview” includes a brass cannon used by the Mexican Army during the Battle of the Alamo and the original battle orders that called for the attack on the Alamo.

The temporary exhibit is on display through April 25. Collins donated his collection of more than 200 artifacts to the Texas General Land Office in 2014.

“We are beyond excited to finally share some of the amazing artifacts Mr. Collins so generously donated,” said Kristi Miller Nichols, the Alamo’s director of archaeology, collections, and historical research at the Alamo. “The public has been very interested in seeing the Collins Collection. It has been an honor to care for and preserve these artifacts over the years.”

During the 1836 Battle of the Alamo, nearly 200 defenders died following a 13-day battle with Mexican forces led by General Santa Anna.

Respect.

Vernon Jordan, who rose from humble beginnings in the segregated South to become a champion of civil rights before reinventing himself as a Washington insider and corporate influencer, has died, according to a statement from his daughter. He was 85.

Jordan’s daughter, Vickee Jordan Adams, released the statement Tuesday to CBS News.

“My father passed away last night around 10p surrounded by loved ones his wife and daughter by his side,” she said.

After stints as field secretary for the Georgia NAACP and executive director of the United Negro College Fund, he became head of the National Urban League, becoming the face of black America’s modern struggle for jobs and justice for more than a decade. He was nearly killed by a racist’s bullet in 1980 before transitioning to business and politics.

His friendship with Bill Clinton took them both to the White House. Jordan was an unofficial Clinton aide, drawing him into controversy during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Men tend to be retarded, just like women. Only individuals can be intelligent, and only in their specific fields of intellect.

The IQ distribution of women clusters around the mean whereas the IQ distribution of men is vastly more spread out. Thus you have more male retards but also more male geniuses. For anyone 2-sigma or more away from the mean (<70 IQ, >130 IQ) they're more likely to be a man, and almost exclusively so at the extremes. https://i.imgur.com/boGyUKt.png

Feels have become more socially valued than facts lately.

I believe that's largely why they so doggedly pursue their tenet of anti-masculinity. Men tend to be rational and logical thinkers and women tend to be emotional and "pathetic" (as in pathos) ones. If you destroy masculinity to such an extent that it becomes dangerous to even talk like a man (and therefore think like a man), then you've greatly eroded the ground where the largest enemy to your religion must necessarily muster prior to an attack.

Watch clips of news shows from the 70s, or even the way that older comedians lampooned political shows of their time (like sketches from Monty Python). It's boring men sitting around a table and having a calm and dull conversation about the facts and issues. It's the least feminine way to have a political discussion. Compare that to today: it's Liked stories of a bartender-cum-congresswoman from NYC supposedly breaking down and crying in front children in cages. The rational objection that she's acting, that she was at a gate 1,000 meters from the facility, that the cages were myths, that the children were well treated, etc., all mean nothing. In fact, making rational objections lowers your de facto social credit score and makes it probable you'll be targeted by a female mob with their male enforcers. The logos has been destroyed and demonized. Evident in every commercial where a bumbling man fails to support his household while the competent woman with pockets on her pants (fashion is primarily a signal to women, not men) takes care of business. Evident in the fact that men who pointed out that George Floyd (identified as a cub for mother bears to protect) had a 3x lethal dose of fentanyl in his system and admitted to sticking the drugs in his asshole to get high, and he previously pointed a gun at a pregnant woman and shouldn't be missed, are attacked by the hysterical throng so much so that people have been fired for a single factually accurate tweet about it.

Chink culture is successful because of Western influence and in spite of their legacy of continual infighting without intellectual development or moral advancement. If one argues that China is now superior, then you've already cut your argument off at the knees by denigrating the Abrahamic modalities; it was Jews that invented and gave them communism, and their own rejection of the Christian notion of the sovereignty of the individual that permits them to continue their civic policy of making the individual spirit moot and permitting collective subjugation.

When Westerners were still fully capable of believing in God and the supremacy of their virtue, they were circumnavigating the globe while unadulterated Chinks and other east-Asians were still perpetrating regional conflicts and eating babies (a Godless, bug-like activity that still persists in mainland China). The Japanese were perhaps closest to a modern civic-ethical structure but it certainly didn't manifest by the time the superior Western system was introduced.

The West is on a suicidal trajectory not as completion of an inevitable arc, but because we've so far been unable to manifest a Thing with which to replace God. The Goddess of Diversity is such a calamitous religion that in just a few decades it's ripping apart Europe and the US, and ironically the immigrants being brought in as a consequence would be the ones least ready to manifest or embody the ethics of a religion-replacement and the ones most likely to temporarily restore us to a more traditional and long-term-stable religion.

I wonder if even 1% of those labeling themselves 'progressive' know that 100 years ago, that movement stood for eugenics and anti-miscegenation laws.

While not approving of your "Chink Culture" designation, I do somewhat agree that East Asian insulation from, and resistance to, the Abrahamic Triad of Fairytales has positioned them to "ascend" after the degenerate 'West' completes its suicidal arc. My only concern is whether nations like Japan and S. Korea have already been exposed to a fatal dose of Western Cultural Imperialism.

Three Wichita police officers injured in possible explosion, leading to SWAT standoff by Nemacolin in news

[–]Nemacolin[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I wonder what's up.

The bomb squad and special weapons and tactics team have surrounded a house in south Wichita after three officers were injured in a possible explosion on Saturday afternoon.

The incident began just after 4 p.m., when officers were dispatched to check a vacant residence in the 1400 block of South St. Francis, the Wichita Police Department said in a series of tweets.

"After making entry into the residence, three officers sustained injuries from a possible explosion from an unknown device," police said.

The officers were taken to a hospital. One had serious injuries, but is in stable condition. The other two had minor injuries.

The scene remains active with the SWAT team and bomb squad at the location. The house is a few blocks northeast of the intersection of Broadway and Harry. Police have asked people to avoid the area.

At around 5:45 p.m., at least two SWAT vehicles were outside a home on St. Francis just south of the intersection with Zimmerly. One officer in tactical gear was looking out from the top hatch with a long gun pointed at the house.

Additional law enforcement officers were across the street, hunkered behind what appeared to be a personal vehicle.

Law enforcement drones flew in the sky as a surveillance plane, possibly from the Kansas Highway Patrol, circled the area. At least one K-9 unit is on-scene. Firefighters are also there, as is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

A group of armored officers approached the house at around 6:20 p.m. and appeared to knock on the door. Two American flags flew from the front porch.

At around 6:30 p.m., police negotiators using a loudspeaker reassured that the injured officers would be OK. They said "we know you're scared."

"Walk outside the front door, hands up, unarmed, and you will not be harmed," police said over the loudspeaker.

Initial reports had suggested there may have been a shooting.

"It sounded like a rifle or an AR round," said Haroon Birva, a man who was outside a home down the road at the time of the incident. "I just heard one."

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

The principle of free speech is a manifestation of the logos: the power of speech to form order and knowledge, coined by Heraclitus. Christianity uses it to mean the speaking of word into reality, which God does at the beginning of the world. The West uses it to strive forwards and use speech and thought as an alternative to violence or a precursor to it, to rally people to offense or defense based on the veracity or perceived veracity of the value of your speech.

I consider people fleeing once-free message boards as an indication that logos is under attack in those places, and an indication that people are seeking it out. This site values the logos more highly than Reddit, for example, where a post like mine above would have me banned.

Logos stands separately from pathos, which is a "pathetic" appeal; it's the woman screaming for an emotional appeal; the crying politician saying we need to enact some piece of legislation while showing you a picture of a dead child. It's manifest when a group of women in our society subset a population and define them as cubs, then protect them like they're mother bears--the "immigrant child in a cage," the "dispossessed First People," the "hapless victim of sinful Drink," the innocent and victimized Black man, etc.

Republicans call to boycott China Olympics over human rights abuses by Nemacolin in news

[–]Nemacolin[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Might be fun.

The White House press secretary has told reporters it is not certain whether the United States will participate in the Beijing 2022 winter olympics.

"There hasn't been a final decision made on that and, of course, we would look for guidance from the U.S. Olympic Committee," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters.

Citing the abuses perpetrated by China against its Uighur Muslims in the Xinjiang region, Republicans have called for boycotting an Olympics held in China or moving its location.

On February 3, however, Psaki said the United States would not boycott the Beijing Olympics. "We're not currently talking about changing our posture or our plans, as it relates to the Beijing Olympics," she said.

The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee issued a statement on boycotting China, noting, "We believe the more effective course of action is for the governments of the world and China to engage directly on human rights and geopolitical issues."

Human rights groups have called for a boycott on the China Olympics because of the treatment of Uighur Muslims and the general record of the Chinese government on human rights. China denies having committed human rights abuses.

In 1980, President Jimmy Carter canceled American participation in the Moscow Olympics, following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who is seen as a potential 2024 Republican presidential candidate, also called for a boycott.

Haley wrote on Twitter: "The United States should not glorify a country that is committing genocide against its own people and threatening the world."
