Developing story

Police have a man in custody after it’s believed he went on an early-morning stabbing spree in downtown Colorado Springs on Monday.

Responding officers found two victims at the first location around 1:30 a.m. followed by several more at a nearby park, KRDO reported.

According to KKTV, authorities received several calls at 2:12 a.m. claiming multiple people had been stabbed at a third location. Upon arrival, police found a few of the victims had detained a man believed to be the suspect.

In all, eight people were transported to the hospital for treatment for what authorities called “sharp force trauma injuries,” but the extent of the victims’ injuries are not yet known, KRDO reported.
