Yea, I still don't like this dude. I think the song Circles was terrible, could barely understand a word he was saying.

I guess if you don't listen to this type of music often. I think every line is very understandable and clear. He's nowhere near mumble or soundcloud rap.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXhTHyIgQ_U

The video is also pretty dope for the genre he's in. It's just a pretty poppy, radio-friendly song. But everything he says is clear. Doesn't mean it's bad that it's so radio-friendly, but that's just my opinion and opinions are like assholes!

I could see why you don't like it.

Is auto tune the right term to describe the way his voice sounds? I think it might be why I dislike it. Like I understand it's used by a lot of artists, but I think it makes it sound a little weird sometimes.

It's most definitely auto-tuned, I can see why you don't like it for that reason. To be honest, I originally didn't like auto-tuned music either, it grew on me. Only in the last few years did I start expanding my musical tastes to everything, things before the 90's which lead to me checking out some modern artists I didn't give a chance because of social views or taboos. But a lot of modern music is so fake/over-produced nowadays, it's terrible. But on the other side of the coin, there's still music like this that has meaning too, versus songs like gucci gang.

Ironically, the album that got me ok with auto-tune was Kanye's 808's and Heartbreak. I know he's taboo too, but he's an interesting individual with some interesting concepts and views, probably the biggest artist to discuss these things. 808s is a good album with good lyrics that was ahead of it's time imo.

Same dude, I realised that some music is just made to hear it, feel good. Every week I try a new genre, also helps to try music from different countries. Today I discovered this: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHog37a4FcAbW_NplUsyQLA

I wish I understood the lyrics, the visuals and music are great. I just listened to/watched VILLILÄNSI and KOMERO. Are they a group? they have some 80's new wave vibes which I've been listening to a lot of lately lol.

They're nothing alike really, but it reminded me of this Russian mixtape I listen to from time to time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypknY6nIDe0

Have no idea wtf they're saying but it's great. I thought it was weird (the singing style and voice, especially) at first and only listened for like 2 minutes, then a few hours later the keyboards were stuck in my head.. I just had to listen again lmao. Now I go back to the mixtape every few months, since I don't understand it, it's like one long ass song to me lmao (skip to the second song, so good, 4:05).

Yeah, foreign language music is pretty weird. After I got in love with Rammstein I started learning german, I think I got a grasp of the language but because of the low commitment I'm not advanced. Didn't renounce to it tho...

If you are interested in romanian vibes, I recommend these artists:

Dude these are dope! I need to give them all an authentic listen, I really dig Vedeți Că Asta E Lungă & the Silent Strike "Need u Now" songs after a quick 30 second preview of each.

I remember when Romania seemed so behind musically to Americans when O Zone - "Dragostea din tei Majahi Majahoo" went viral lmaooo. It was like they were releasing their version of our 90's boy band music when we had already moved passed that to gangster rap and "emo rock". But I guess the internet and time changed that.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

None of these are mainstream though...

I discovered "Am fost la munte si mi-a placut" recently and they are nice to listen on a bike ride.

MesQuins is kind of a weird one, made by Silviu Gherman (and Ovidiu Chihaia), a comedian that makes absurd comedy, this band is kind of ironic, making fun of non-conformism but also has interesting topics. For example my favorite song is Mentorica which presents the perspective of a man who is desperate for fun, he is selling books and doesn't talk with anybody, he wants to try drugs but feels so out of the loop, it feels so weird, you kind of identify with him in this era, you spend more time by yourself and you suddenly realise you want to have fun.

Invaders from Silent Strike is my favorite song and is in the intro of "Hackerville" made by HBO.

Alternosfera feels very intense sometimes, you get caught in the rythm, once I almost showed my christian parents that I love rock listening to one of their songs.

I like his music too, he is just a regular dude making good music.

He gets a lot of hate, his music changed since "White Iverson". He's stated he thought that's what he needed to do to be successful, but doesn't care anymore and is making what he wants now, the White Iverson era was what he felt he thought others wanted.

It also seems he's very much aware of how dark this world is, based off this album, as well as this: https://hypebeast.com/2017/11/post-malone-3-million-dollar-shelter-utah

"The “rockstar” singer also talks about his massive gun collection."

(keep in mind he's not a flexing gangster rapper toting their guns around)

"Post Malone was featured as guest on the H3 podcast earlier this summer. During the conversation, the Texas singer-songwriter revealed that he wanted to build an apocalypse shelter. “I’m just buying a place out in the sticks,” he said. “I’m building it underground. It’s going to be fun until the world ends. But whenever the world ends, it’s going to be functional.”

Malone specified in the interview that the ideal location of this shelter would be in Northern Nevada. However, he followed up in a Rolling Stone interview published yesterday that he will be buying a 13,000-square-foot home in Northern Utah for $3 million.

“I’m gonna put in, like, 30 bunk beds,” Post said. “It’s free country out there. Like, you can buy suppressors in Utah. You can do open-carry. Walk into the grocery store with a handgun on your hip. Cowboy sh*t. I can’t wait.”

He's spoken a lot about darkness, human trafficking and corruption and stated that he hates politics. I think his success let him see a side of the world he didn't know existed/wanted to see.

In this song, he frequently mentions blood and vampires feeding from hollywood - what are they feeding on? Energy? Money? People? All of the above?

I kinda avoided him too, when Rockstar got popular, it was played nonstop on my class. I got the idea that it's just another muble rapper as I was listening Eminem and Joyner Lucas at the time and I hated that kind of music.

But I was also a fan of H3H3 so when he appeared on H3 podcast I got to understand it a bit.

I listened to his albums of Spotify and Hollywood's Bledding was really good but I think all of his creations are worth hearing, it's what made him what he is today.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (13 children)

But I was also a fan of H3H3 so when he appeared on H3 podcast I got to understand it a bit.

Same exact story, the reason I actually started listening to him. And yeah, even the White Iverson era is good, when you consider the type of music it was meant to be and compare it to other artists who were around during the time. But his lyrical content/organicness has definitely approved.

Joyner Lucas

If you haven't yet, you should give Brock Hampton a listen. They're a pretty good music group that reminds me of Lucas, their content doesn't get as deep as his at times but they're really creative and have cool concepts.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (12 children)

I think Post Malone will have a song with Eminem or Joyner, he said in a interview that he intends to.

Btw, Am I the only one who can't get into Logic? He keeps repeating himself about being biracial for example.

I listened to some songs of Brock Hampton and it sounds like a new generation of Wu Tang Clan of this era.

Edit: Also, I'm happy to see another H3 fan, what do you think of the jew conspiracies?

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

Post Malone will have a song with Eminem or Joyner

That'll be interesting! I wonder how he'll mesh with them and what the content will be.

Also, I'm happy to see another H3 fan, what do you think of the jew conspiracies?

What do you mean by "jew conspiracies"? Are you talking about Zionism (if so I do believe that exists, it's openly stated to exist and people claim to be Zionists), or something specifically related to h3h3productions? I only know Ethan and Hila supposedly met while one of them was serving the mandatory military time in Israel? Is there a conspiracy about them? I honestly haven't heard anything like that, I've just watched their videos and listened to some of their podcasts as they always pop up in my recommended (and they're usually funny/informal lol), I haven't gone to any message boards or sought information relating to them.

edit: this it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onXbATmL--8

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

I don't think there is a complex conspiracy about them, the conspiracy dudes need to step their game up hahaha!

.

About the Zionism thing, I learned from my history teacher that anti-semitism was first invented in Russian Empire, not Germany. That was because Russia's economy wasn't working and they needed someone to blame on. I think that remains the same to what happens today. I'm not denying the existence of Mossad but other countries are way more powerful in spying manners and Israel already got their hands full with the war. It's just a half-assed conspiracy that got popular based on mainly religious beliefs. just my two cents...

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

I've seen way too much proof of Zionist action; modern quotes directly speaking about Zionism from self-proclaimed Zionists and their goals, both politicians and celebrities on camera. If you look at who controls the porn, music, and entertainment (hollywood) industries, as well as makes up the majority of our press and government, it's a certain 2-3% of our population that are "always targeted for no reason". That's a major coincidence; Al Goldstein who was a major player in the porn industry in the 70's and 80's had this to say about his religious beliefs as a self-proclaimed Zionist:

"Ford asked Goldstein why Jews were dramatically over-represented in the porn industry. He answered, "The only reason that Jews are in pornography is that we think that Christ sucks. Catholicism sucks. We don't believe in authoritarianism."

Ford then asked, "What does it mean to you to be a Jew?" To which Goldstein responded, "It doesn't mean anything. It means that I'm called a kike."

Ford also asked, "Do you believe in God?" Goldstein said, "I believe in me. I'm God. Screw God. God is your need to believe in some super being. I am the super being. I am your God, admit it. We're random. We're the flea on the butt of the dog."

Every religion or ehtnic background has radicals, it would be silly to assume not. And it's possible for one of them to acquire wealth together in secret, keep a close-knit bloodline, and manipulate with the money they continue to accumulate. Especially in times where technology did not exist. Everything in The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion is visible in today's society, as predicted in this book which was distributed by important people to America's history and culture. You can listen to 10 minutes and draw distinct, concrete parallels that are very specific to today's world and current situation - even the order which things happened in. But it's labeled as antisemitic. Did Henry Ford and Walt Disney truly hate Jews? I don't think so.

But, we're in a music sub. Opinions are like assholes and just like I have a right to one, you have a right to yours. I'm not going to say you're wrong and force my views on you. I don't know everything. I don't even understand the reasoning or end game for it all although there are many "theories". But clearly, something is going on and there's a lot of corruption and propaganda right now. I mean, a lot of us are here due to the increased censorship on the internet.

Not that I know a lot of what happens in Hollywood, I'm from Europe.

But, we're in a music sub.

Yeah, might as well enjoy ourselves :).

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

I'm a first gen model Americano, all of my family's from Europe too! I've noticed our people's parents get more stern, easily agitated yet clingy as they age compared to Americans (well, I guess depending where in Europe you're from)!

and enjoy we shall.

[Intro]

Hollywood's bleeding, vampires feedin'

Darkness turns to dust

Everyone's gone, but no one's leavin'

Nobody left but us

Tryna chase a feelin', but we'll never feel it

Ridin' on the last train home

Dyin' in our sleep, we're livin' out a dream

We only make it out alone

[Chorus]

I just keep on hopin' that you call me

You say you wanna see me, but you can't right now

You never took the time to get to know me

Was scared of losin' somethin' that we never found

We're running out of reasons, but we can't let go

Yeah, Hollywood is bleeding, but we call it home

[Verse]

Outside, the winter sky turnin' grey

City up in smoke, it's only ash when it rains

Howl at the moon and go to sleep in the day

Love for everybody 'til the drugs fade away

In the mornin', blocking out the sun with the shades

She gotta check her pulse and tell herself that she okay

It seem like dying young is an honor

But who'd be at my funeral? I wonder

I go out, and all they eyes on me

I show out, do you like what you see?

And now they closin' in on me

Let 'em sharpen all they teeth

This is more than I can handle

Blood in my Lambo'

Wish I could go, oh, I'm losin' ho-ope

I light a candle, some Palo Santo

For all these demons, wish I could just go on

[Chorus]

I just keep on hopin' that you call me

You say you wanna see me, but you can't right now

You never took the time to get to know me

Was scared of losin' somethin' that we never found

We're running out of reasons, but we can't let go

Yeah, Hollywood is bleeding, but we call it home

I know he gets a bad rap, but if you're into this style of music you should really give the short album a listen. It follows a common theme:
