I don't think the context is right.

Order 66 brought about the true fall of anakin and the elimination of the Jedi who had lost their way by Darth Vader.

It also saw Vader essentially destroy the leaders of both sides, the separatist alliance and the Republic, all of which had all become pawns of palpatine in the scheme to turn anakin and destroy the Jedi.

I think a better analogy would be as palpatine ordered a grand army of the Republic for safety and security, or better yet having count Dooku kidnap Jabbas son to have them control shipping and transportation routes.

That's pretty much what this is, entities exist outside of FB, AMZ, TWIT and GOOG. People may not like them as much, but the internet exists outside of them, in fact you can still find truth outside of them, it's becoming harder though.

It's crazy to watch through the lenses of what's happening now though.
