Logic: "we have more floods today than in the past, this is caused by atmospheric CO2 increase, here's the data and the science to back it up, and here are compelling arguments why more power and more money for politicians will make things better"

You: "see all these floods recently OMG and also you suck"

Nobody can make it better for the foreseeable future, no matter what some asshat bobbleheads heat the room with.

But: We can slow it down by using natural resources more reasonably.

Take a bike or a train, if you can. You know ? Instead of driving your tank to the next liquor store to buy a six-pack for example.

Especially US citizens can.

To give all those people in the regions mostly affected at least a fair chance to adapt. Instead of ignoring the facts and forcing people in poorer regions to migrate elsewhere because their home regions simply have become uninhabitable before they even had a chance to act.

Humans, like every other species, will thrive and multiply until environmental conditions and scarcity wont allow any more growth. This is the natural way of things and of all life. In fact, therein lies the divine power of life. We always push from below against some natural ceiling. If you decide for yourself (or for others in case youre a tyrant) to reduce your consumption of resources, others will gladly consume what you leave be.

The idea of throttling human growth today to avoid reaching this natural ceiling is just as nonsensical as committing suicide because one fears death.

Throttling overpopulation is completely different from throttling the overproduction of waste. Destroying our own natural habitat in the process.

The divinity of nature is that it doesn't know waste.

Which we actually could adapt. If our "elite" wasn't this fucking stupid from centuries of incest.
