I'm so sick and tired of this COVID mess.

Blame the schizos who think a 5 minute jab is worse than WW2. But they're getting their wish now. Hospitals in my country are starting to crumble because we're quickly running out of nurses.

[–]proc0 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (28 children)

The jab does nothing to stop this. It just reduces serious illness in older people, and offers a tiny chance to slow the spread. This is not even controversial now.

There is a subtle false equivalence that the jab is the ONLY solution to the whole pandemic, and saying otherwise means you want people to die. What if 100% jab and virus still mutates and kills people? What if the one solution does not work? Are politicians and pharma going to be held accountable for the miscalculation? Of course not. This is not a civilization ending virus, and the measures called for are blatant power/cash grabs.

Why don't we have a polio epidemic anymore? Or why do schools tell children to be immunized against a whole host of diseases instead of just dumping Ebola positive Timmy in class?

It's not for nothing. But the lunatics ran with a completely different story that every Nurse and Doctor was contemplating genociding the world with a 5 minute medical procedure. The absolute definition of schizophrenia and paranoia.

Edit: And the ironic part is they get mad when hospitals want to turn away unvaccinated patients for making their life harder. They can trust medicine when they're on their death bed, but they turn into maniacs when a cure is offered to them upfront.

More false analogys. You've used this argument before, I already told you why it is wrong. To repeat: The polio vaccine is an inactivated vaccine which contains dead or inactivated virus particles. The covid vaccine is an RNA vaccine that produces the same proteins as the virus itself.

More importantly, the covid vaccine does not prevent transmission of the virus. It only reduces the symptoms of infection. It is also a leaky vaccine, and it loses efficiency after several months, hence the need for booster shots. It is one of the most useless vaccines ever invented, which is little better than a placebo. You are not going to end the plandemic by jabbing everyone, especially since the Elites are using it as an excuse to push their agenda through.

Stop spreading bullshit.

The booster means it's working.

[–]radicalcentristNational Centrism[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (14 children)

You literally type an entire paragraph just to say Covid vaccines wont work because the Elites wont let it happen and you use that as evidence for why it's somehow different from all previous vaccination campaigns.

It's annoying having to deal with conspiracy after conspiracy that always end up contradicting themselves in the end.

Wrong again. I explained to you the reasons why the vaccine can never end the 'pandemic.' That remains true regardless of whether or not there is a conspiracy.

It's annoying having to deal with conspiracy after conspiracy that always end up contradicting themselves in the end.

Nope. They are separate theorys which stand on their own merit, but which mutually reinforce each other. The vaccines don't work, and the pandemic is a scam. Deal with it.

[–]radicalcentristNational Centrism[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (11 children)

No, I'm not falling for this sorry.

Vaccinations were already proven to work last year. Deaths dropped and the majority of all new ICU cases came from the unvaccinated.

https://globalnews.ca/news/8230051/covid-vaccine-hospitalization-risk-ontario/

When these facts were known, my government had a responsibility to enforce tougher restrictions on the unvaccinated. But instead, my Premier (Doug Ford) had foolishly delayed rolling out vaccination passports at the last minute. Couple this with local cities refusing to crack down on illegal indoor gatherings and we've returned to square one.

And at a federal level, the government also failed to ban all international flights, which is how the virus first arrived in the country to begin with.

The two go hand in hand. Citizens MUST be vaccinated to help eliminate it, and foreigners must also be banned from entering a different country unless they quarantine for two weeks or more.

why not get boosted then

No, I'm not falling for this sorry.

What a luxury it is, to ignore facts that contradict your story.

The vaccine does not prevent transmission of the virus, that is a fact. It is a leaky vaccine, and it loses efficiency after several months. That is also a fact. Oh, and as for the hospitalisation numbers, you might want to look at these:

In Germany, 95% of the omicron infections were among the fully vaccinated.

In the United Kingdom, 83% of the covid deaths were among the fully vaccinated.

[–]radicalcentristNational Centrism[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

The vaccine does not prevent transmission of the virus, that is a fact.

Don't show me links after the virus has mutated. I showed proof last year that only the unvaccinated had made up the majority of new cases in Ontario.

The government was given a chance to keep it that way but the Premier had sat on rolling out passports at the last minute, in addition to the federal government refusing to stop international air travel into Canada.

This is why it's dangerous to let these antivax sympathizers anywhere close to power. The majority of Ontarians had overwhelming supported enacting the mandates and life itself would have been back to normal. But the government sat it out too long and erased all progress we've made.

On a positive side, this year is the election for Premier, and vaccinated Canadians could easily vote in a more radical government that wont be so kind to antivax. The silly back and forth jokes have gone on long enough, especially as our healthcare system can only handle so much now.

How much did you get paid to make this stupid comment?

Polio is deadlier, and even then not 100% of the population got immunized, right? Only the vulnerable, which were children. Besides, if one solution worked for that disease, it doesn't mean the same solution will work for the next disease. The main objective should be to protect people from dying, and secondarily the hospitals from overflowing... but was that the main priority? If it was why weren't at-home treatments developed? Why are alternative medicines suppressed by hospitals, in favor of the "official" treatment(s)? There are too many of these lost opportunities to really solve the actual problem, instead of just pushing a new pharma product.

that every Nurse and Doctor was contemplating genociding the world

It seems to me doctors and nurses are in large part committed to following orders by the NIH or whatever medical organization they are part of, meaning that they can't practice actual 1 on 1 medicine with people. This synchronization can easily lead to large catastrophes of medical malpractice, which already are a huge death statistics. I'm amazed at how much all of a sudden people started trusting big pharma like the saviors of humanity.

Besides, if one solution worked for that disease, it doesn't mean the same solution will work for the next disease.

Thank god medical research didn't just stop in the 1950s. It's almost like Scientists are suppose to be paid to come up with solutions for fighting new ones all the time...

Why are alternative medicines suppressed by hospitals, in favor of the "official" treatment(s)?

Probably for the same reasons why can't I do open heart surgery with a chain saw, or rub a dead chicken on a patient's forehead?

Having standards is a good thing.

Probably for the same reasons why can't I do open heart surgery with a chain saw, or rub a dead chicken on a patient's forehead?

Even heart surgery requires consent, and is the decision of the patient, in addition to their being multiple solutions for virtually any disease. This is the first time everyone has become a zealot and push for the narrative that literally everyone should take seasonal shots forever (not even hyperbole).

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Probably for the same reasons why can't I do open heart surgery with a chain saw,

The chainsaw was developed as a medical instrument by two Scottish doctors.

or rub a dead chicken on a patient's forehead?

The Vicary Method, named after Thomas Vicary, an English doctor.

Were those deliberate choices? My ankle surgery was done with something identical to a Dremel, and staple guns they use to close wounds are just sterilized stamped metal staple guns you use in construction. Super glue is still handy for closing wounds.

While a chainsaw itself isn't still used, it was the forerunner of what we do still use. The chicken thing didn't work out obviously.

[–]radicalcentristNational Centrism[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

The chainsaw was developed as a medical instrument by two Scottish doctors.

They certainly were, but for reference, they actually looked like this:

Now imagine waiting in the operating room as the Doctor brings out this:

The point is, I don't think professional medicine needs to entertain every single idea for the sake of it.

It's a massive waste of time, we would need to train more people on the safety behind each of them, and more importantly, more efficient methods already exist that makes it redundant.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The old fashioned chainsaw is very cool.

The point is, I don't think professional medicine needs to entertain every single idea at trying to find a cure.

All we have now are vaccines that keep wearing off, that don't prevent spread, were built two variants ago, and have questionable effectiveness against what has now become a more mild variant of an already very survivable virus.

The covid vaccine is like the flu shot. We haven't been able to get rid of the flu this way, I don't see why there'd be any expectation it would get rid of covid. Since covid is apparently here to stay, we need viable alternatives.

Why don't we have a polio epidemic anymore?

The polio epidemic was over before mass-vaccination ever began. Today, polio vaccines cause more cases of polio than they prevent.

[–]radicalcentristNational Centrism[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Oh yeah, that makes complete sense. India had reintroduced oral vaccines in 2010, but they did not actually see levels higher than 1980.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-25709362

But keep the comments coming. I feel like I'm becoming a medical expert by the day. Even as someone who was never all that interested in it before.

The only reason why I care about this stuff is because health is important. If you can't keep a nation healthy, how does one expect civilization to survive? I don't want all of Canada dead because there are actual fringe autists who might think drinking bleach is a miracle drug. Every other conspiracy makes sense because they don't tie themselves to the Darwin awards and get real people harmed.

[–]88BitSorelianism 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

LOL you're completely delusion.

[–]radicalcentristNational Centrism[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's an exaggeration, but if you actually lived here, you would understand just how fragile our country can be.

A lot of Boomers are going to retire or have started retiring this decade. This is not actually a good thing to have, because it takes long time to train new doctors and nurses to replace them. Sending more sick people to the hospital has caused a massive strain on our system, which was never built to handle the influx. In addition, the poor treatment of Nurses and Doctors has also made this career feel toxic to any newcomers who want to help but now can't.
