Yep, it jumped six days ago at the announcement of freezing bank accounts, went down when people realized blockchain transactions are public.

BTC $42293 to $44250 then it tumbled to $38432

what is the wallet of choice that people are using?

Not sure, I don't take my money off the exchange. I'll be sure to do some research if I give to Canadian Freedom Protestors.
