Africrypt was the investment firm. It was two kids, 18 and 20 years old, trusted with $3.6bn US.

Here's an article with some more deets.

Although the thing about nearly all crypto is the blockchain ledger is public. You can see every transaction. The money won't be hard to find, they might even be able to get it back.

Yep, it's like unmarked bills. As long as you never spend them you're fine, but since they can be tracked indefinitely, spending them is problematic since it can lead back to the thieves.

A quintessentially American crime declines: Robbing banks ...https://www.washingtonpost.com › local › 2016/09/29 Oct 6, 2016 — FBI numbers show the average take has dwindled by nearly half over the past 10 years to just $6,500.

How many years in prison are worth it for a shot at $6,500?

Let's say you stole crypto. You order anything for yourself they are going to figure out who you are and where you live. You transfer crypto and they know stolen crypto is in that account. That person tries to buy anything delivered we know who they are. They can track back the associations.

and they will be some rich ass niggas.

Who can't ever receive any goods bought from their stolen crypto.

Yea, they "vanished". Next you'll tell me McAfee and Epstein both "committed suicide in jail", and Koby Bryant died in a helicopter "accident".
